एक सूती वस्त्र कारखाने की यन्त्रशाला के निम्नलिखित विवरण से प्रति घण्टा मशीन दर की गणना कीजिए। यह मानिए। रविवार के अतिरिक्त दीपावली पर 3 दिन, होली पर 2 दिन तथा बड़े दिन पर 2 दिन की छुट्टी होती है। कारखाना सप्ताह में 5 दिन 8 घण्टे प्रतिदिन तथा शनिवार को 4 घण्टे चलता है। कारखाने में एक ही किस्म की 40 मशीनें लगी हुई है।
From the following data of a textile factory machine room, compute the hourly machine rate. Assuming that the machine room will work on 90% capacity throughout the year, and that a break down allowance of 10% is reasonable.
There are 3 holidays at Deepawali, 2 at Holi, 2 at Christmas exclusive of Sunday. The factory works 8 hours a day on 5 days in a week and 4 hour on Saturday. The number of machines each of same type are 40.

वर्ष में 52 रविवारों के अवकाश के अतिरिक्त 10 दिवसों का अवकाश रहेगां जिनमें 2 शनिवार को हैं । प्रतिदिन 8 घण्टे कार्य किया जाता है । किन्तु प्रत्येक शनिवार आधार कार्य दिवस ही होता है । पूरे वर्ष में समाप्त मशीनें 90% क्षमता पर कार्य करती है तथा मशीन खराब हो जाने वाले समय की हानि के लिए 25% प्रावधान यथोजित है । कारखानें में 5 मशीनें समान आकार प्रकार की हैं ।
